How do I use this 'forum' thing?

Forums contain threaded discussions under a topic. This is a topic. A threaded discussion is one with a series of posts which reply to the topic submitted by different users. Each post replies to a prior post. In this way multiple, distinct posts comprise a discussion 'thread.'
